I like the use of various different paper sizes

I love the contrast of large glossy paper and smaller matte paper (like nonfiction novels)

I am interested in the possibilities of transparency paper, but I think it would have to be used very wisely to work well and not look tacky

Cut out shapes/letters to reveal a glimpse of the next page is an interesting technique if used in an appropriate place that enhanced the users experience
Laser cutting?

I do quite like the look of printing onto craft (matte brown) paper

Will I need to produce 'scientific' diagrams/info design like this in my publication?

I like this style of illustrating over photographs

Art of the Book. (2015). Berkely, CA : Gingko Press.

"Each paper presents a different visual experience in which everything changes, including the colour of the paper, the weight, the size, the inks used, and the printing techniques."

"The designer sought to create a visual translation of mine-en-scene, using basic theatre elements such as the ticket, curtain, the play's acts, and the reflection taking place in the spectator's mind as metaphors."

I like that there's a lot for the viewer to interact with - it keeps them interested

Some more examples of transparency - I like the tracing paper as it is a softer effect than the clear transparency

"Each book features an interview with the artist and images of his/her works."

I like how the interview is separated from the artwork by paper size, texture, weight etc

This is an interesting sized booklet, it makes me think of the shape of the old road codes... is this a shape I could explore?

The curved corners are interesting

Another example using craft paper
