The Lowdown
"Mission: To help young New Zealanders recognise and understand depression and anxiety."
"The Lowdown is part of the Ministry of Health's initiative to improve mental health and prevent youth suicide."
Axe Peace 'Care Package'
"We commissioned Tumblr GIF artists to take our core campaign messaging, "Make Love Not War" and create their own unique artistic interpretations. Artist James Curran (SlimJim Studios) created "Care Package," an animated GIF depicting military helicopters airdropping loveable bears. The juxtaposition of weapons of war being used to spread love was a perfect encapsulation of the campaign as a whole."
"The "Care Package" GIF was amplified with a Mobile CPM buy and was the #4 Sponsored CPG Tumblr Campaign during the Super Bowl garnering over 35K Notes. Additionally the placement yielded 48K+ Total CPM Engagements (on 1.25M Total CPM Impressions) – the .0385 CPM Engagement Rate is a 70% lift over the average Mobile campaign."
MIT Using GIFs To Advise
"The Massachusetts Institute of Technology use GIFs to promote developments in their research and advances in technology. Their researchers are also keen to incorporate this into their strategies, wanting to turn GIFs into a language of it’s own."
General Electric's Educational GIFs
"It can be hard to make something like the human body or sustainable energy interesting for a general audience. Thankfully, General Electric knows how to make the important stuff seem cool. How? With GIFs, of course.
GE has a Tumblr that’s chock full of educational content. Its popular tags are along the lines of #SpringBreakIt, #6secondscience, and #BadAssMachines.
The image below showcases the company’s LEAP jet engine, which improves fuel efficiency by reducing the weight of the aircraft. At the end of the post there is a link to get more information about the invention on GE’s excellent blog."

Vancouver Police Department's 'Stupid Combinations'
"Using mobile devices while driving contributes to nearly a third of traffic deaths and injuries each year in Canada; however, people still don’t view texting and driving as the lethal combination that it is."
"Taking the form of posters and postcards, the campaign will be distributed to high schools as a safety reminder. It also encourages students to share other stupid combinations through social channels tagged with #stupidcombos, thus appealing to their social networks for more visibility and reach."
"Students are also encouraged to draw stupid combinations and share them on their social channels to enter into the contest. The VPD’s social media division will be consolidating all of the entries and a committee will select their top five combinations. The five shortlisted entries will be shared on the VPD’s Facebook page and the public will be encouraged to vote for their favorite. The #stupidcombo that receives the most votes will be deemed the winner with the recipient winning a police ride-along experience."
