Week 11: Reflection On Conversations

Last weekend I finished writing my proposal and laying it out on InDesign which makes me feel a lot less stressed about the whole thing. This will allow me to dedicate this weekend to furthering my own design work for in my proposal which I am happy about as I have not had time to focus on that aspect of my project since the super crit.

This week I have been trying to share my proposal with as many people as possible to get as much feedback as I can, in the hopes of improving my writing to a high level. So far I have shared it with; lots of peers (I get them on board with reading my near 5000 word document by suggesting a swap-meet where we read each others proposals!), my mum, dad, and sister, and I also returned to see Martha at the Centre for Teaching and Learning.

So far no one has suggested any areas that need to be condensed (where I waffle), or where it needs to be expanded on (because it doesn't make sense). The only things people have found are very small spelling and grammar mistakes, or areas where I am missing a word. In fact, Martha said she had absolutely no critique for the proposal, which makes me feel secure. All of the feedback has been very positive - my favourite comment, from my flatmate Sam, was that she felt anyone who reads my proposal could surely not argue anymore that equine road user safety in New Zealand is not an issue. This makes me feel very pleased as one of the main road blocks I have faced with this topic has been people not believing that my project has value as they don't realise that this is actually an issue that needs to be addressed.
